I just got off the phone with a group of external peer reviewers and once again my work has received 100% compliance! I have sat in as a peer reviewer for many, many reviews and never reviewed one that was perfect. To have had two in a row is amazing. It's a very big project and requires tight organization and minute attention to pull it off. My client is ecstatic!
I am a perfectionist and had an upset stomach waiting for the conference call. I aim for 100% and would have been upset with anything less. This tendency which can be a flaw elsewhere really helps my business. Thankfully I have a very relational style to accompany it or it wouldn't matter how perfect my stuff was - people want to work with people they enjoy working with. Period.
Last week I spent four days in the Mountains coaching an agency while acting as a volunteer peer reviewer for another organization. The woman I worked with had no idea what I do for a living. She was so thankful for my support and hugged me at the end saying, "You're amazing, I'd love you for a mentor". I loved coaching her, seeing her aha moments and knowing her services were going to be exponentially better. Her comments reinforced my belief that I'm doing the work I'm supposed to be doing. A year ago I was a mess. I worked without any real life happening and my deteriorating relationship with my boss frankly left me a paranoid mess for a few months. What a difference a year makes. As scary as its been starting a company I wouldn't have it any other way in this awesome moment.

That's great! Your blog shows how a woman can still be feminine and submissive yet balance that with being a career woman.
